George Chau
George Chau is a dedicated SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Peer Support Counselor at Rogue Community Health. He has a BA in Communication and a Peer Support Specialist Certification. He brings his expertise to support those struggling with addiction.
Motivated to use his gifts to help those in need, George sought an opportunity at Rogue Community Health to build meaningful relationships and assist people in overcoming barriers to their recovery.Â
In his role, George focuses on recovery-related topics, including ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences), active listening, mindfulness, boundaries, self-care, and relapse prevention. His approach is rooted in meeting people where they are, listening to understand their needs, and encouraging and praising good decisions.
Outside of his professional life, George’s passions include music and family. He plays bass and sings in his rock/country cover band and worship team. He enjoys playing video games with his son, and they share a love for the outdoors, living near Rogue River with their goats and chickens.
